The Arts Society Wantage was formed in 1985 as the Wantage Decorative and Fine Arts Society

The Society meets monthly, but not in August or December, for lectures on an eclectic range of  topics from English ceramics  to Australian aboriginal art via French chateaux.  The talks are given by highly qualified lecturers, registered with The Arts Society, who are experts in their chosen field.
This year’s programme of lectures can be found on the Lectures webpage.

Visits and guided tours to museums, galleries and other places of artistic, architectural  and  historic interest are organised by the Society.
The current programme can be found on the Visits webpage.

Study Days are also arranged when a subject is examined in greater depth led by an expert in the field and an excellent lunch is provided. Subjects have ranged from ‘Shakespeare through artist’s eyes’ to a hands-on introduction to watercolour painting.
The current programme can be found on the Study Days webpage.

Church Recorders are a group of volunteers who make a detailed study and inventory of the contents of churches enabling their rich artistic heritage to be recognised and preserved.
More details can be found on the Church Recording webpage.

Young Arts aims to inspire young people with a lasting enthusiasm for the Arts, and the Wantage Society provides a grant each year towards an appropriate project.
More details can be found on the Young Arts webpage.
